What makes YUNLING different from Japanese matcha?
YUNLING is single-origin matcha grown in the highlands of Guizhou, China, at over 1,200 metres. It isn't a blend and it isn't trying to imitate Japanese matcha — it has its own character: bright, green and full-flavoured, shaped by the cool, misty climate it's grown in.
Which grade should I choose?
- Ceremonial: our highest grade, made to be whisked with hot water and drunk on its own.
- Barista: made for milk — smooth in lattes, hot or iced, with no bitter edge.
- Culinary: for baking and cooking — real matcha colour and flavour in cakes, cookies and ice cream.
- Everyday: our everyday-drinking grade and best value for regular use.
How do I prepare matcha?
Sift 1–2 grams (about half a teaspoon) into a bowl, add a little hot water (not boiling — around 70–80°C), and whisk in a brisk "W" motion until smooth and frothy. For a latte, add your milk of choice.
Does matcha contain caffeine?
Yes. Matcha is made from green tea leaves and naturally contains caffeine.
How should I store it, and how long does it keep?
Keep your matcha sealed, away from light, heat and moisture, and use it within the Best Before date shown on the pack. For the freshest flavour, finish an opened pack within a few weeks.
What's in it? Is it suitable for vegans / allergies?
Our matcha is 100% green tea and nothing else. It is naturally vegan. It contains no major allergens, but please always check the label on your pack.
Where do you ship from, and how long does delivery take?
We ship from our source region in Guizhou, China. Estimated delivery to the UK is around 7–14 business days from dispatch, depending on the courier and customs.
Will I have to pay customs or import charges?
Any taxes due are calculated and shown at checkout. For most standard orders you won't pay anything extra on delivery. For larger orders, a courier may occasionally collect import charges — if you're unsure, email us before ordering and we'll help.
Can I return my matcha?
Because matcha is a sealed food product, we can't accept returns once a pack has been opened, for hygiene reasons. Unopened items can be returned within 14 days. If anything arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, email us within 48 hours with a photo and we'll put it right. See our full Refund Policy for details.
